Annwyl gyfansoddwyr, awduron a chyhoeddwyr

Taliad mis Awst:

Pan sefydlwyd Eos ym mis Tachwedd 2012 y bwriad oedd gwneud ein taliad cyntaf i aelodau rhywbryd yn ystod yr haf 2013. Deuthum i gytundeb â PRS y byddant yn darparu’r data ar ddefnydd repertoire Eos er mwyn i ni fedru prosesu taliadau.

Er gofyn sawl tro dros y 6 mis diwethaf pryd byddai’r data’n cyrraedd, hyd yn hyn mae PRS wedi methu â rhoi dyddiad i ni. Er ein bod ni wedi bod yn casglu breindaliadau gan ddarlledwyr ers cychwyn y flwyddyn, bydd rhaid disgwyl hyd nes i PRS drosglwyddo’r data cyn i ni fedru gwneud taliadau.

Penderfynwyd talu PRS i brosesu’r data ar ein rhan am ddau reswm:

1) arbed arian ac amser i Eos ac felly’n golygu ffi comisiwn is;

2) llawer haws i ddarlledwyr gan nad oes raid iddynt addasu eu prosesau cofnodi mewnol.

Petai PRS yn trosglwyddo’r data i Eos cyn diwedd mis Mehefin 2013, mae’n bosibl bydd y taliad cyntaf yn barod rhywbryd ym mis Awst. Cyn gallu dosrannu’r breindaliadau, yn gyntaf bydd rhaid chwynnu a chywiro data PRS, wedyn prosesu’r wybodaeth er mwyn gweithio allan graddfeydd munud darlledwyr a siariau aelodau (mae manylion y broses ddosrannu i’w gweld fan hyn).

Serch hynny, yr hiraf mae PRS yn disgwyl cyn danfon y data atom ni, yr hwyraf bydd taliad cyntaf Eos. Rydym am ddisgwyl tan ddiwedd mis Mehefin 2013 cyn edrych ar opsiynau eraill. Mae gweinyddiaeth Eos eisoes yn barod ac yn awyddus i gyflawni’r gwaith prosesu.

Os nad ydych chi wedi gwneud eto, llenwch y ffurflen wybodaeth ar gyfer  aelodau (ar gael fan hyn). Heb eich manylion ni fydd modd gwneud taliad i chi. Cofiwch, mae gwerth chwe mis o freindaliadau darlledu yn eistedd yn ein cyfrif banc yn barod, ond i ni gael data PRS byddwn yn ei dalu allan.

Yn y cyfamser, mae croeso i chi gysylltu â Tomos yn y swyddfa i gael gair ag o neu i drefnu sgwrs ffôn gyda fi.

Yn gywir

Dear composers, authors and publishers

August payment:

When Eos was formed in November 2012 the intention was that our first payment to members would be sometime during the summer of 2013. We came to an agreement with PRS that they would provide the usage data on Eos’ repertoire so that we could then process the payments.

Having now asked several times over the last six months when the data will arrive, as yet PRS have failed to give us a date. Even though we have been collecting your royalties from broadcasters since the beginning of the year, we will have to wait until PRS hand over the usage data before we can make any payments.

We decided to pay PRS to process the data on our behalf for two reasons:

1)            to save money and time for Eos to keep the commission fee down;

2)             much easier for broadcasters as they wouldn’t need to adapt their internal recording processes.

If PRS transferred the data to Eos before the end of June 2013, its possible that the first payment could be ready sometime in August. Before being able to distribute the royalties, first of all PRS’ data will need to be corrected, then the information will need to be processed so that the broadcasters’ minute rates and members’ shares can be worked out.

Nevertheless, the longer PRS wait before they send us the data, the later Eos’ first payment will be. We will wait until the end June 2013 before looking at alternatives. Eos’ administration is ready and waiting to complete the processing work.

If you haven’t already done so, fill in the member’s information form (available here). Without your details we will not be able to make a payment to you. Remember that your broadcasting royalties for the last six months are sitting in our bank account, if we only had the PRS data we would pay it to you.

In the meantime, you are welcome to contact Tomos in the office to have a word with him or arrange a phone conversation with myself.
